LISTENING SESSION

The Fort Atkinson City Council will be holding a listening session for City residents on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at TPF Outdoors, 102 West Sherman Avenue.  The City Council will not be taking any action, or making any recommendations at this session.

Foundation to help with Tree Replacement Project

The Fort Atkinson Community Foundation has awarded a
grant of $50,000 to the City of Fort Atkinson to help the city and the newly-reorganized Beautification Council purchase and plant hundreds of new, large trees in the wake of the emerald ash borer infestation.

ELECTRONIC WASTE

Now that the City’s compost site is closed for the season, E-Waste that is normally disposed of at the site may now be dropped off at the Dept of Public Works between the hours of 7:15 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Monday - Friday.

ALTERNATE SIDE PARKING

From Dec. 1st to March 15th from 2-6 a.m. vehicles must park on the even-numbered side of the street on days bearing an even-numbered date, and on the odd numbered side of the street on an odd-numbered date.

COURT CLERK MOVE

To be more compliant with state statutes the Court Clerk’s office will now be at Municipal Bldg, 101 N Main. The office hours for the Clerk will be Mon., 1:00-9:00 p.m. and Tues.-Fri. 8:00 a.m.-4:00p.m. Forfeitures should now be paid at the municipal bldg. The Court’s telephone line will be 563-7763

Property owners will be receiving a letter from Associated Appraisal regarding revaluation of properties for 2017.  This is to notify property owners that they are in fact working on behalf of the City and is a legitimate request.

N. HIGH STREET PROJECT

N High will be closed on Wed, July 20, 2016 & Thur, July 21, 2016 FROM 7A–4P to repair utility manholes.  The detour will direct traffic down E Blackhawk to N Main to the Madison/ N 3rd intersection. The work will take two days to complete with good weather.

Tree City

For the 20th year, Fort Atkinson has been named a Tree City USA. This recognition was achieved by the City meeting the program’s four requirements: a tree department, a tree-care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.

Vehicle Registration Fee

The DOT will be collecting an annual $20 fee for all vehicles registered as being in the “City of Fort Atkinson”. If you received a renewal notice with the fee and the vehicle is not kept in the City limits, make a note on the application which municipality the vehicle is kept in and deduct the fee.
