About Us
The Fort Atkinson Police Department is a full service agency with 22 sworn officers serving a population of 12,500 for the City of “Fort” as it’s locally referred. Our agency has its own 24/7 Emergency Dispatch Center staffed with 5 full time and 5 part time dispatchers and a Records Clerk who manages our Records Division. We also employ 1 part time Code Enforcement Specialist who supports our officers and dispatchers in the field.
As our agency motto says, we are “Focused”. Fort PD is a department filled with men and women that are Community Focused, Team Focused, and Safety Focused. We strive to be proactive through forward-thinking police work. Being a part of our community instead of a police force that stands over the community is how we have achieved strong community bonds that help Fort Atkinson earn annual recognition as one of Wisconsin’s safest cities.
